Sudden changes in curvature jerk the train — your body feels jolt. Modern profiling uses spiral transitions (often related to Euler/clothoid math) to gradually increase or decrease turn rate and banking.
That is why newer steel coasters feel fluid at similar speeds compared to 1980s layouts.
