Planning a theme park day

Arrive with a short list, a break plan, and realistic walk times — especially at large regional parks.

Learn/Park visits

Start with three must-do rides and a few backups. Big parks spread coasters across loops; walking between lands adds time people forget to budget.

Check the park’s official app or site for hours, single-rider lines, and weather policies. Morning is often best for marquee coasters; evenings can be strong for rerides if crowds thin.

Plan food and shade — dehydration makes every ride feel worse. If you are chasing counts, log rides in Coaster Atlas as you go so you do not lose track after a long day.

Finally, leave room for non-coaster breaks. Flat rides, shows, and slow walks reset your tolerance for intensity and keep the day fun instead of a grind.
